Employees give retail push on working hours that cut into their Black Friday Thanksgiving, ABC News reports.
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving is a time dealers are committed to the transaction to roll down, encouraging consumers to camp outside the store before opening and trample each other to enter. It is also considered the official start of the holiday shopping season.
Target employee Anthony Hardwick has launched an online petition to protest against the clock. Must be at work before the store opens at midnight. He collected about 200,000 signatures, ABC News reported.
"I'll have to get some sleep and I'll probably go to bed at 02 hours and miss my family Thanksgiving dinner entirely," Hardwick said the new organization.
Customers tell ABC News they are aware of the workers.
"I think the shops are a lot of courage to do this," said Joan Feslen shoppers. "I do not believe that employees want to work."
National Retail Federation reported that 152 million Americans shopping for Black Friday to predict or second weekend after ABC News.
