Tony Stewart Won The Sprint Cup Championship With A Win In The Final

Homestead, Florida - As it turned out, no one wins the matter to decide on the Sprint Cup championship.

Tony Stewart's fifth victory in the 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup was as dramatic as might be, where Stewart won Sunday in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, beating second place Carl Edwards behind the caution flag early and apparently stop number 14 Chevrolet has been restarted.

Stewart, pumped his fist after winning the most unlikely of titles, where he began to pursue without a win and a gentle push.

At 8:20 p.m. ET Sunday paid more rain on the circuit - but too late to help Edwards. Stewart was back in the hall of victory before the ESPN cameras and microphones.

"Man, it was a difficult summer and fall hard for us. The man kept this floor raining just long enough for us to do this job, "said Stewart. "Are you kidding? We said all week if we just go out and win the race, we do not have to worry about that (Edwards) did."

Stewart ends exactly on a par with Edwards points to 2403, but Stewart won the title based on the tiebreaker - most victories. All five wins came to Stewart NASCAR series, while Edwards was only one victory this year in the third race of the season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"We got it?" Stewart asked his crew chief Darian Grubb as he crossed the finish line.

"We got the baby," said Grubb. "We got the tiebreaker. Jobs awesome! "

Stewart became the third championship won by the question of its grille and three rain delays, including a strike for almost 75 minutes.

Stewart dropped to 40th after the damage at first, but quickly charged his way through the pack and restarted regularly dominated. After the final rain delay, Stewart - restart in fourth place with about 40 laps to go - quickly charged forward.

Edwards, who re-start the sixth, made his way into second place and trailed Stewart, about a second round of anger.

Stewart had received a warning after the opportunity to drive fuel-air Grubb with about 55 laps to go - and hope to do more than one stop. Edwards was silent for about 20 seconds when he came to the circuit, but was able to move in front when Edwards and almost everyone had to come to the pits for fuel on bail.

Edwards could not recover the ground lost in the final laps, and there is another precaution to an agreement.

"This evening is about Tony Stewart. These guys rose to the occasion. They beat us fair and square, "said Edwards." It is as hard as I can run, I said to my wife. "If I can not win this thing, I would be losing the best NASCAR has ever had." "

Stewart became the first owner-driver to win the championship since Alan Kulwicki in 1992 and the first driver to win a title since Jimmie Johnson in 2006 - a year after Stewart, a second championship.
